Night View of Kannoji Temple

Night View of Kannoji Temple

Kabuto-yama can be reached in about 15 minutes when traveling by car using the Nishinomiya-kita Toll Road. Kannoji Temple built adjacent to Mt. Kabuto in 831 is associated with Kobo Daishi or Kukai, the founder of Shingon Buddhism. It is referred to fondly as "Kabuto-yama Daishi." The lookout affords a superb view of the city lights of Nishinomiya below and Osaka in the distant panorama. The breath-taking scenery of seeing the scores of cherry blossom trees in the compound alongside the steep steps with 99 steps from the main gate to the temple will move visitors.
